Too lazy to set up for his own shindig, George lounged on the sofa with a beer in hand staring into the sparking fire. He rationalized in his own mind, despite the fact that no one was there to contest him, that if his party was about celebrating the end of living alone - living single, as Ron technically had lived with him even if he wasn't around very much - then demonstrating organization, planning and energy were the wrong ways to go about commemorating the male sentiment. He should be lazy, slightly grungy and sitting in a pile of his own chips.
Minus the chips, which were in the kitchen along with the rest of the snacks and sweeties he'd picked up for the evening, George was the poster of the essence of men living without women. His hair wasn’t brushed, in that sort of stylish way he always kept it, as if he hadn't bothered in 22 years. The casual button up he'd tossed on after work had probably been worn at least three times too many but residual cologne covered any foul odors. He was also sitting in the only room with a light on, and that's where he would stay until people arrived, in the semi-dark, with a beer and his feet on the coffee table, the WWN whispering match plays in the background.
