I'm glad you liked the pots. Bill and reckoned you could use more pots, especially now that most of us are bringing around guests for dinners and such. We also thought they'd look pretty hanging from the pot rack to brighten up the kitchen.
Sorry to disappoint, but I'm not making any plans to marry anytime soon, Mum. Athena and I have an understanding. I'm still leaving Britain in a year or so and I'm not leaving a wife behind. I do think the pair of us could manage dinner. You're an amazing cook.
Love,
Charlie

Why must you torture your mother so? All I want for my sons is for them to find a nice young woman to settle down with. Athena seems to be nice, though at times I must wonder about whether she is indeed wife material. I know your father and I raised you to be a respectful family man. Therefore, I can only assume that such heart wrenching decisions began as her idea.
I understand you are leaving, and if she really does love you then Athena would be willing to go with you wherever your job takes the two of you.
Regardless, please let me know when I can expect you for dinner and what you would like for me to prepare.
Love,
Mother

It's a core competency. Torturing parents is what all children do best. I'm sure Gran and Gramps were tortured when you off and married Dad so young.
Here I thought all you wanted for your sons was for us to be happy. I'm very happy, Mum. I'm doing exactly what I want to do with my life and I plan to keep on doing it.
I'm sure Athena would agree with you. She's probably not wife material for just any bloke. She is Minerva McGonagall's daughter after all. It takes a special sort of man to appreciate a woman like Athena. Good thing you raised me special, isn't it? You and Dad did raise me to be respectful of marriage and family. That's precisely why I refuse to marry. I have far too much respect for the institution of marriage to uproot a family or leave a wife and children behind while I take off for years at a time ( ... )
