Draco barely made it in the door of his flat before he was attacked by Lucifer, huge wings fluttering madly. Draco dropped into a crouch, both arms over his head to protect his face, and shouted the owl down. Once Lucifer had perched on the back of the sofa - "That is expensive, you sodding bird, don't you dare tear that up!" - Draco noticed that the owl had a card held in his beak.
Draco took it, gingerly, and examined the card, then looked at his owl and raised an eyebrow. "You have to be kidding me. No, don't even bother to explain, I know what you want to do with this. No. It's stupid. And it's rubbish, what happened, you find this on the street somewhere? It's trash, Lucifer, it's probably teeming with disease and god knows what, and ow ow ow ow ow, stop that!"
He jerked out of Lucifer's pecking range and glared sulkily on the puncture wound in the back of his hand. "Feathery bastard." He cleaned up the beak-mark, stuck a plaster over it, and scribbled a quick note to go with the card. Just to satisfy his "sodding bird!"'s demands, he signed the card as well.
"I'm going, shut up!" he shouted at the hooting owl, then grabbed his cloak, slammed his door closed, and stalked down one floor to Luna's flat, where he attached the note and card to her door with a Sticking charm.
Luna,
Lucifer would like Nous to have
this. I apologize for its state, seems he found it out in London somewhere last night and insists I repurpose and deliver it. Happy Valentines Day. Apparently.
Draco
That done, he stalked out of the building and headed into Diagon Alley for a walk. Anything to get away from lovesick owls.
