The wards alerted Lucius to the presence of an uninvited guest at the gates, and he clicked his fingers for a house-elf, instructing the creature to see who was there. The elf returned a few minutes later brandishing what Lucius assumed was a letter, which looked a little worse for wear, it had to be said.
Lucius sighed when he opened the letter and recognised the handwriting as Rowle's. That was really the last thing he needed, more Death Eaters, especially since this one appeared to think he was going to be able to march in and out of Malfoy Manor as he pleased. And how on earth was he supposed to reply to this? He supposed there was not much he could do about it other than to meet Rowle the following week. Lucius was not happy that he did not appear to have control over the situation, but it seemed that there was very little he did have control over at the moment. Clearly a few ground rules would have to be laid down when he met Rowle.
