As Ron made his way out into Diagon Alley, he left a semi-crowded pub and was a bit put off, for once. He would not have minded in the least, lingering and having a pint or two to end one of the busiest weeks he had ever had. Okay, so last week was worse, but still he was finding this being the ultra responsible one just a tad wearing. He couldn't go see Megan; there was no word yet if the baby was over whatever bug he had. He couldn't just go lounge out in the flat, which would have been brilliant. Hell, at this point, anything other than going to the shop would have been brilliant. He missed the hell out of Harry but the training had like changed; all of the attacks had put it on fast forward mode, and if he thought it was tough in the fall, that had been a cake walk compared to now.
He'd left the rest of his trainees, all talking and planning on going out to get knackered. And here he was, getting ready to hit the second job. There was plenty of work to be done; the most pressing was checking the store room, and restocking to make things easier for tomorrow. If it had been busy, the clerk helping now would not have had the time. Ron gave a big sigh as he walked down the Alley, the crisp air refreshing. His mind was already shifting from Auror to inventor. He might stay up late tonight and flush out some of those ideas Anthony had mentioned in private.
He wasn't exactly ambling, but he wasn't running as he moved down the street.
