[Once he sees that hulk of a man wandering into town, Ling realizes he should probably go talk to him. He does vaguely remember him from the battle in Central. So he hops down from where he's at and starts trailing the giant man.]

Hello Major Armstrong.

[It probably doesn't. But it should likely suffice.]

When I was here before, I was still sharing my body with the homunculus, Greed. Because of that, I had a philosopher's stone inside me. He attempted to do a human transmutation, expecting that by traveling through it, we would be returned to our own world. Instead it 'rebounded'. [Not an alchemist, so Ling doesn't fully understand the implications of that.]

He was left unconscious for days after that. If he found out what he and Al needed to do to get their bodies back, they wouldn't hesitate to try again. Even if there was a high chance it would backfire on them.

[Armstrong stares at Ling, completely and utterly speechless. He is quite obviously shocked.

He opens his mouth then closes it before shaking his head once and pinching the bridge of his nose with one hand. Armstrong lets out a long slow breath.]

I have to agree with your assessment. Edward would do something that foolish if he knew what it was he needed to do.

Does Alchemy still function normally here?

[Well. That was certainly easy. Never let it be said that Ling doesn't care about his friends.]

It does, though not at its full strength. Our captors have a way of decreasing people's special powers. Greed had the same problem with his Ultimate Shield.

[Armstrong knows the Brothers. Probably knows the better than they think. Especially since he comes off so. . . Armstrong-y. Hides a quick mind, don't ya know.]

I see. That is both a curse and a blessing I would think.

[Armstrong pauses.]

It sounds like you've been here before, if your saying Greed had trouble.

[WHAT A MIND those Sparkles hide.]

[Those sparkles distract people from noticing these things, clearly.

Nodding.]

Five months. I returned to our world, long enough for the Promised Day and to start my journey back to Xing. When I returned here, a month had passed. It's been two months since then.

[Makes you wonder if that isn't the point behind them?]

That is most interesting. Is that normal? The disappearing, then reappearing I mean.

((ooc; Totally Having Armstrong LIVE IN YOUR BUILDING LING. 8D *cackles madly*))

More or less. It's actually returning and remembering that's unusual.

((ooc: Poor Ling. Thank goodness his bodyguard is coming!))

How unpleasant, if enlightening.

So, who from our world has been and gone?

[Because he is Genuinely Curious.

Armstrong also takes this time to actually starting looking at the clothing, though finding something in HIS size was going to be an adventure.]

((ooc; Mwahahaha-*killed* Not on the same floor though. And Yay for bodyguard~))

You would have to ask Winry that. She's been here longer than all of us. However, since I've been here... [Well. Here comes the awkward dead people list.]

Two of Greed's old gang from Dublith were here for awhile. Maes Hughes vanished as well. But he returned just yesterday.

I shall make note to do that.

[Armstrong listens and then nods slightly.]

I see. Hughes is here? That is nice to hear, considering his wife and child are here. It'll be very nice to see him again. . .

[Maes is going to get HUGGED TO DEATH. And Cried on, but for now Armstrong is tear-free.

WHY ISN'T HE SURPRISED? Well, you did just tell him that people are taken from different parts in the timeline so, yeah.

Armstrong picks a shirt, then stops.]

How do I get this on, considering I have wings?

[You are a brick wall of deliberation, Armstrong. But Ling hardly knows him, so he considers this pretty normal.]

Oh, hand it over, I can fix that. [He says as he reaches for his dao.] I just cut holes in mine. It's more relaxing than keeping them stuck under a shirt.

[Big and sparkly he may be, but slow Armstrong is not. PERHAPS THEY SHALL BECOME FRIENDS?

Armstrong dutifully hands the shirt over.]

Considering how sore they are, I would think keeping them under a shirt would be very painful.

[Ling will quickly cut two quick holes where Armstrong's wings ought to be before handing it back.]

Once you get used to them, they aren't quite as bad.

[Armstrong happily accepts the shirt back, then start manipulating it on, make sure to get his wings through. He winces slightly as he ends up tugging one of them a bit, but gets the shirt on.]

That is a relief.

[He proceeds to button it up. Somehow, the shirt is actually a bit large on Armstrong, which is weird, but a good thing.]

I would just suggest you not remove them. It's lethal to do so.

[For now Ling will stand by, but he'll be probably making his exit soon enough. He accomplished what he wanted to.]
