That never happened to me! It sounds a bit terrifying. But! You could shape the whole thing into a salmon loaf and bake it instead. You could experiment with loaf toppings too to brighten the flavours. I forget but I know it had lime and possibly cilantro... something asianish would be nice.
It had lime, but I didn't, & made do with lemon. And dill for the herbs. You had also suggested chili as an alternative to the dill, but apart from some rather ferocious chili flavoured sesame oil, I had no chili. So gentle flavours tonight.
Yes, I thought about a loaf, because it was a pleasant-tasting mixture. I shall experiment again with it in a few weeks.
