I thought I should poke my muzzle back in, and confirm I've remained safe during the pandemic. ^_^ I've now received two doses of AstraZeneca magic, as of last Saturday, leaving me in a relatively privileged position

They're worth a try. ^_^ I'll certainly miss Odd Taxi and Vivy when they're gone - I suppose there's the possibility of a second season, though IIRC both are original productions, rather than based on existing manga. They're available on streaming services like Crunchyroll (ISTR they have a free ad-supported tier, but it never worked for me, dropping the show after a couple minutes and forcing me back to the start..), or via trackers like Nyaa.
Ooh, I ought to note Eizouken, too, a standout from 2020 - that I knew was going to be special right from the opening minutes, literally. Watch these four minutes, and see if you feel a similar sense of wonder.. ^_^
And likewise! It'd be a tiny bit annoying to've made it through all of 2020 only to fall to the virus now. Hopefully none of the variants coming along will prove able to evade some or all of the current versions of the vaccines. So far, the indications seem hopeful.
If you're still an EU citizen, doesn't that mean that you now individually have to pay the moneys that the UK gov't used to pay on your behalf?
I have had one dose of Oxford/AstraZeneca. It is supposedly only 33% effective against the "delta variant" from India, so hopefully I'll be able to get Pfizer for my second dose.
Dragon's also got a really fun opening theme - reminds me a bit of early Queen. ^_^ It's a very well-natured show, with plenty of variety in the weekly plotlines preventing it from going stale.
Penguindrum's a very deeply strange one, from the Utena creator. It's very much a "game of two halves" thing, though - the first spends much too much time on an obsessive stalker character, with the bulk of the plot really kicking in with the second half. Still, easily one I'll recommend, with that caveat.
So I'm a Spider, So What? is another well worth highlighting - it develops gradually into something rather impressively plot-rich, and has a stellar performance by the lead seiyuu. I ought to also point out the utterly loopy ending theme of the first half (eps. 1-12). Fancy that some karaoke night? =:D
I'd love to hear your thoughts on the Eizouken opening sometime, if you're so inclined. ^_^
Needless to say, I'd be absolutely delighted if they prevail.
Don't count on it though - this is basically “it would be nice if it were true, therefore we think it is true. Also you should totally give us your money”.
That pride flag is very pretty! Quite clever design.
Love the degauss idea! I'd hope that you'd have a charge build-up indicator showing that you should do it soon so you could manually trigger it rather than it automatically going off at random times.
One thing that I miss from old CRT televisions is the static from the front of the glass. It was a unique sensation that nothing that I remember produces. We had a big 29" or bigger TV at my parents, so it would build up quite the charge after a few hours.
A relic of the past, not to be seen again.
And congrats on getting your second jab! We completed ours back in very late March, IIRC. I was put in a high priority group because of my immune problem, and my immunologist had me tested to see if I produced antibodies, AND I DID! So you can imagine that there was much rejoicing over that! Very few of his primary immune deficiency patients did, and I was one. He was equally surprised and pleased.
Oh, definitely! And hey, always fun at any other time too. =:D
Oh, wow, yes! I'd forgotten how much dust loved CRTs, always winding up in that remarkably uniform distribution. Still, no question how much easier LCDs et al are to actually use, in mobile devices, laptops, and even monitors - now, 24" is on the petite side, and 55" TVs are nothing unusual, whereas that'd be a ruinously expensive proposition with CRTs. (I wonder what the largest conventional CRT TV ever made was? Not projection, just plain "CRT in a box")
Now that's really good news! Hopefully widespread vaccination'll put paid to the pandemic, and if there should be any signs of a new wave starting up, action's actually taken sooner rather than later. I may not have the money to really celebrate things loosening up again, but it's definitely hugely
