This is one of my favorite memes. It’s a look at the last year, through the first line of my first blog post of each month.
  1. the failed canary in the lightswitch
  2. a crow carrying pearls
  3. sometimes we have the same colour iris
  4. commitment/abandonment
  5. it's may day: make a joyful noise

life, memes, new years

It's been a very, very difficult year and because of the difficulties I've been very isolated.

And, fwiw, I've loved you unwaveringly, through everything. You've hardly heard from me, but that's just an index of my incapacity and exhaustion, rather than of anything else.

Same here. Something nice is winging your way, though, that I didn't get to send before my trip. Hopefully it will help. <3 Love you forever.

That posted before my little quotation.

Coincidentally, the both of you have just lost a familiar. Odd to see the sad, wrenching synchronicity on my livejournal feed.

Boy, I wish you were here and we could drink a bottle of wine and stay up all night talking.

I don't have a ton of input right now. My heart is aching and I'm exhausted, too. But I'm here, witnessing and sending you energy. I wish for peace in your heart, lucrative opportunities for you to choose from, and hope for the future.

Please keep writing.

I'll bring the wine as soon as I find a way to be closer. In the meantime, thank you, and yes, and you too, and I shall. We'll make it through somehow, if only because we always have.

Secret bleeding that nobody knows about, and giving up hope. The gap between inside and outside has grown to the point where it is a Problem.

Professionally - doing some satisfying wonderful whimsical things.
Parenting - I have a six year old. Completely different than having a five year old. We have a great time.

Maybe you aren't losing your writing as much as being reluctant to let its nature change? Am I way off base?

Except it's a complete and utter lack of writing, to the point where I wasn't even keeping up much of my traditional correspondence.

Perhaps you need to find a new form of expression, something to bridge the growing gap.

Thank you. I'm going to try. I don't have a project yet, though the bones of an idea are beginning to coalesce, but I like your suggestion of writing what I notice, because yes, there is always something.

I look forward to the river of stones.
