just a short note of general triumph

This is complete genius. Remember that entirely nonsensical LJ mojo meme that was floating around about a month ago? It asked who on your Flist you've dated and created a graph that charted things like how Hard To Get you might be. I tried it out, randomly picking the top and the bottom people on the list it offered me, (Devon* and Warren, ( Read more... )

just desserts, memes

Have you been following what happened to Kevin Potvin? He wrote this article years ago, and recently it's been quoted, (with very specific lines left out), all over the place. The leader of the Green Party stated he would not be allowed to run as a candidate, which is practically a crime against the public.

In my opinion? Hardly. theotherbaldwin May 10 2007, 15:09:52 UTC
Yeah, what osmie said.

It didn't even strike me as particularly creative or funny bit of trolling, so I can't even get a mild chuckle over it.

Ah, well.

It's not genius, and it's not brilliant.

Is it somehow clever to point out that we trust each other, and that some people decide to violate that trust?

I'm not sure I want to know you anymore.

I would have preferred if they had made their point with something less graphic, but there are basic rules for self-safety that should be followed on-line. Don't host anything from a site you don't know is legit is a big one, just like don't download anything from a site you can't check up on first. I don't mean to come off as harsh, I worked as a safety monitor on a children's website for over a year and the biggest lesson I could instill in the kids was that blind trust is not a healthy thing to have on-line. Check sources, check people, etcetera.

I'm not talking about them...I'm talking about you.

Your attitude. It makes me sad. I thought you better.
