Hopefully the emergency vet was on crack and it's not cancer. Having lost family and friends to it was bad enough. Having my cat get cancer was the final straw.
I hope he pulls thru for you.

My cat had cancer, but she didn't get a chance to die from it, so I don't know what to expect. So far I have been cleaning up quite a bit, but nothing too terrible.

did they flush him out with barium to see what that thing in there was/is?

There's no ferret resources here, she just poked him with her fingers a bit, said she didn't find anything in his inttstines, which is what I'd already done, and told me it was probably cancer somewhere her fingers couldn't reach.

for my lunch money for the next two weeks I got to have a doctor explain very carefully how I was a bad person for wanting to take him home to pass on in his sleep rather than murder him out of hand. I had to argue to get him back and almost had to raise my voice to do so.

It was wretched.

Hi

Praying for your ferret, but I don't know if shinto gods do house calls.

Hi

That's how I would have wanted to go too. Have happy/sad tears, lady.

"He's a tenacious little thing, even still dragging himself across the room to get to me, so I expect him to remain resilient."

That says it all. Whatever thought processess go on in little ferret brains were probably along the lines of overwhelmed with joy and relief at having made it back home with you. Keep making the little biting machine happy and comfortable. It's what they keep us around for.

*nods* He continually tried to crawl away to die, they have the instinct to not sully thier den, but after awhile he gave that up and stayed where I put him.
