OMG, can't stop laughing. Perfect.
I was going to ask if anyone died of dysentery on this trip--every game of Oregon Trail I played ended in dysentery. Every. One.

Thanks!!

And haha YEAH, Oregon Trail was just a fancy way of saying "Everyone gets deadly diarrhea, the end!"

"General Store, Eh?" cracks me up.

I don't think I ever played Oregon Trail, but that tombstone shot looks so familiar.

That tomb stone became pretty iconic, and I'm pretty sure it's been used as the basis for online memes before too, so chances are you've seen it floating around in the intarwebs ether in one form or another.

Hahahaha! This may not have been your original idea, but what a great use of the prompt AND of a classic video game.

The choices at the "GENERAL STORE, EH?" cracked me up. "Excessively polite conversation." These days, it's hard to see how that could be a bad thing.

I love how you've lampooned both the right and the left extremes here, either of which could wind up wanting to flee depending on where this next election goes. They will hate the outcome-- HATE it!-- and it will be exactly what the people on the other end of the spectrum were dreaming of. So, either way, someone will be pissed off.

"Verbal dysentery"-- I'm surprised it hasn't killed us yet, since it's been going on for months now. :D

Thanks!! I'm super relived this one ended up working. It was one of those random-ass ideas where it was like "this is either going to come out exactly how I wanted or make absolutely zero sense AT ALL and be an epic, nonsensical mess, and there's no in between, so let's just do it and hope!"

And shit like this is only fun when both sides get lampooned. The extremists on both ends are just so utterly absurd, they're both deserving of it.

This was funny and fantastic. It definitely had the weird effect (for me, at least) of mixing nostalgia for lousy games of my youth with political angst - that's an odd cocktail, you know? But putting it over icy Canadian rocks made the whole thing go down easy. ;)

Maple syrup on the rocks then, eh?

It was definitely a weird cocktail of things to mix together! I think it was just like "okay, these two concepts have juuuuuust enough in common that I MIGHT be able to whip up some unholy bastardization and make it work." But I had to at least try! In the name of science and stuff.

This is a) HILARIOUS and b) Brings back WAY TOO MANY MEMORIES. I used to play this game on the desktop computer at my grandparents house. They kept it in the basement, and didn't have a clue how to work it. This game and "Word" were the only programs on it.

Very nice job. :))

I think this game was part of the formative years of many a kid who let their parents and teachers think they were using the computer for educational purposes, but we were really just naming party members after classmates we didn't like so we could see them get dysentery.
