Porn to spice up cell phones in the future.

"Pornography has made inroads on cell phones in Europe, where it was a $775 million industry in 2007 that will grow to $1.5 billion by 2012, with the global market reaching $3.5 billion in 2010, according to Britain-based Juniper Research."

Wow, that's a lot of money. :X

I've always wondered what the purpose of this is. I mean, whether you think it's right or wrong, I can comprehend the idea of someone wanting to in the privacy of their own home. But to have it on a cell phone? What, is that so someone can go in a bathroom stall and just go to town?

I normally take a stand that something in this community is either right or wrong....but all I can think of with this is.....why?

I can think of a few situations where it'd be desired. Out camping, for example. Can't really surf the net on a laptop in the middle of nowhere. Or say, if you have a family computer, can't view porn in the early evening on it. (I imagine it'd be pretty rare to get the chance over all, especially if your kids are teenagers.)

I guess I was digging deeper than that. Like for example - I can see the need for a portable toilet that you can stick in your pocket - whenever you need to go, you have one. But it's not entirely necessary because most of us are capable of holding it until we DO find a bathroom. As far as porn on cell phones go, you're right that it can be used when someone is on vacation or not near their computer.....but I guess because I don't see the need for porn in the first place, I'm having trouble seeing why someone would need it in their pocket at all times.

Honestly, that kinda creeps me out. Not only am I weirded out by the idea of people viewing porn on the train right next to me, but I also have trouble understanding the desire for porn-on-the-go. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you want to watch porn, get aroused, etc, isn't it something that should be done in private? From my understading, the need to view erotic materials/masturbate isn't usually so pressing that one must do it right when and where the urge strikes...
