While I haven't been in this exact situation and am quite unsure whether it would be good advice, I would perhaps ask the people on the wait list if they're still interested and warn them that you may not be able to finish their commission in time due to upcoming school and not wanting to over stress yourself after finishing a previous batch of commissions. I'm horribly afraid of being a source of disappointment myself, but people can be understanding!
