The new clip from episode 12 on the Doctor Who official site is so made of win that I just don't know what to do with myself. I know it's only a few seconds long, but those are some lovely performances! Gosh!

I was complaining to my brother yesterday night that daleks are overused (blah blah pepper pots with sore throats, egg whisks and plungers) but actually, looking at that and seeing the effect they have on the characters, you can see why. I think Gwen is the only one who hasn't encountered them. I don't know if it will be touched upon but I'm fairly sure Ianto is supposed to know who they are too. He was at Torchwood One during the events of Doomsday.

Perhaps it's good for all the characters to have a uniting fear, something they've all faced. Sort of like Angelus in Buffy.

I agree. I don't think I'd considered how blase I was about the Daleks until I saw the clip, but everyone's reaction reminds you why they're the big villains. All of the past companions have suffered so much at the hands of the Daleks. It's cool stuff!

I didn't consider that Ianto would be familiar with them. So apart from Gwen it's just Donna and the kids.
