So, my darling Chihiro was boarded while I left town, and I paid for ten days though she was there for more like nine days' worth total, seems how I dropped her off late last Friday and picked her up early yesterday. We packed up more than enough food for her and took her there, and I cried when I handed her over. Chihiro is my baby

LOL, if its any help, I believe its from her suffering seperation anxiety and being in a new place. I've worked for a vet and I know boarding stories from it. Plus I can say that's not too bad, my friend was forced to board her dog for months during an messing when they were trying to find a house when the landlord of the one they were renting wanted to move back in. The dog nearly chewed his tail off. He had a scar there till the day he died.

I will probably board her at the vet's next time, cost be damned. I'm not boarding her there again.

Did ya ask the place where you boarded her what happened while she was in their care? That'd be the first thing I'd be suspecting and asking.

I asked how she did, and they didn't give me any real details, just said that she'd been fine and had been a good kitty. I figure I'd be paying for the ER trip if she'd bitten or scratched anyone, so "good kitty" just meant "she didn't bite off anyone's arm." Bleh.

When we boarded our cat for a few days, it was just him in a room by himself, w/ his food and toys. Luckily there was a vet tech who loved cats, so I'm sure he got a lot of attention. And he looked and acted fine when he got hom.

Chihiro was in a little crate and they didn't allow her to have the t-shirt of mine in her crate with her, and they did not provide her with any toys. She was stuffed in a very small box for ten days and judging by how starved for attention she was, I don't think anybody touched her the whole time I was gone.

I will never board her there again.

Thank God! But I feel so bad for all of those other animals. :(

The only thing is when we boarded Spunky, the vet provided their own food and toys for him. But he accepts things so easily and is so greedy that I'm sure he was fine with the different toys and food. lol Well, I know he was fine. He was the same old Spunky. lol

They would have provided food, but Chihiro does not tolerate changes to her food well and she'd be sick for three days, easy.

I wish they'd just given her a toy or two! Or let her keep her t-shirt! What would it hurt to have her t-shirt? I mean, for serious!

Yeah. My vet does boarding, for about twice the price, but at least I know she'll be cared for there.

Sick part was, I'd toured the facility when we took Rob there for day-stays, but I never got to see the cat section. News to me, huh? I feel like I owe her more toys and treats than I can ever afford. ;_;
