I'm reading that one right now. So far I've been getting all these neat little mental sparks where 1) I can tell exactly where little holes in my understanding were instantly and effectively filled in or 2) I think "Ah HA! Just as I suspected." and grin. ms. hooks is kicking my ass - not in a white supremacist classist sexist patriarchal sort of a way[*] - and I'm loving every minute. I might wanna bounce some ideas off of you later.

[*] The ONLY thing driving me batty about the book is how much she loves to use strings of modifiers. I guess saying something like "from here on out known as 'peckish'" wouldn't let the concepts sink in as easily. They're still mouthfuls. :-P

That is awesome sauce to hear, and YES, when you are done (or before!) feel free to bounce the ideas. Are you coming to PUF?

I love bell's strings-o-modifiers myself, but I can see where they can get unwieldy.

Oh yes, I shall be at PUF. I plan on staying the entire time.

Most of the idea-bouncing would involve 1) what to read next and 2) productive ways that I can help change the system. We'll discuss. :-)

Hooray! We will be in Thursday night, so dinner is good...are you going to the feminist bookstore for the reading that night, too? Because I have heard good things and would like to go.

YAYAYAYAYAY. Even if alexandraerin can't come this time as planned. :(

I haven't really had the chance to look at the schedule yet, but I would be up for that since I know which bookstore you are referring to and it will not be far away from where to go out for Tasty Fudz.

Hooray, tasty fudz!

I am not entirely sure I am going to have a working phone, so closer to time I'll get you a contact number or two from people who are coming with and have nationwide plans, as well as mine (which my provider says works in Madison, but I'm not so sure about.)

I think Justice and Her Brothers is older than that -- I remember seeing it in libraries when I was in high school, which significantly antedates 1998. :) But yay Sweet Whispers is AMAZING!

I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to say hi at Wiscon, or thank you for helping to organize con_or_bust.

I'll check again. God knows where I pulled that from.
Thanks! I was sorry we didn't get to say hi as well, but, so it goes. Next year? :D
