Perhaps I am misunderstanding the question. But I don't remember my first rpg box's colour - there was a yellow dragon on it? BD&D? Am I entirely off in this guess?
The red box I think has a red dragon on it. I am not sure of the blue box. Might be able to "google it. Or you might've had a box that was just black and white, maybe?
It was short-lived. We rolled characters, walked into our first dungeon (run by Jon Alexander who had never played before and was using my set to DM) and were slain horrifically by a gelatinous cube.
After that, I hooked up with friends in grade 12 who had AD&D and knew how to use it, and things went much better after that.
I have NO idea how my set got so banged up with such little use. I have no idea when it disappeared - I wish I'd known it would have such nostalgic value.
I still have my AD&D books, including the Deities with the Melnibonean and Fahferd mythos. I've heard they are coveted, (from a covetous friend) so I guard mine with pride. :)
