The more I think about this article the more it's making me angry. And I don't even play! They're trying to avoid harrassment and discrimination yet THEY are the ones doing it? ARG!
I saw that earlier...between this and their recent actions about "Battlenet" and surpressing a program that was written from scratch called "bnetd" which was compatible with "Battlenet", so that you could run a WoW server that wasn't run by Blizzard. I would say that it's time to boycott Blizzard software.
This confuses me actually. I know more than a few of the high level Blizzardites and they (the ones I know, obviously I can't speak for the others) are by no means homophobic. It has to be a breakdown in communication somewhere.
I know the person in question wasn't stating that the guild was GBLT only, just friendly, but what if it was someone wanting to do a hetero only guild? i wonder how people would respond, not only blizzard itself.
i feel in this context, blizzard was wrong to give her a warning. they explained it very badly, but at least they didn't suspend her account. I myself do use the term "so gay" but 1) never in a public/guild chat setting 2) never with the intention of it meaning those with an alternative lifestyle. (is alternative the right way of saying it?) Hell, my sister is a lesbian and uses the term herself lol so i guess it's just me feeling it's ok
but back to blizzard, i'm glad i didn't hear any of the "Aids" stuff when the plague was around on Elune. in fact i really don't ever see the term "so gay" and the likes in the general chats, at least on alliance side, cuz i have no problem verbally lashing idiots, much to the chagrin of my fiance :p

Glad I finsihed with WoW months ago-and one of the reasons for it was the high levels of intolerance both on RP servers and off.

For info on the bnetd thing, read the EFF site:
