If you ever find yourself wondering what to eat up around Presbyterian Hospital after a draining visit, go around back (east) to that grungy Cuban sandwich place where nobody speaks English, El Presidente. I ordered the masitas de cerdo frito and had no idea what the waitress was asking me, but fortunately I had spent enough time poring over the variants of platanos to recognize "maduros" when she reached it in the list and yell, "Sí!" Man, were they good.
