If he is anything like my 2 cats and my dog (all boys) ... he'll be *very* glad to see you when you come get him. He'll probably be a little groggy tonight, but he'll be fine. And he'll be just like he was before surgery as far as personality, etc. My Gus (the dog) is still the same lovable goofball, spazzo that he was before his surgery last week. He's right back to playing with his milkjug. :o)
Smudge is gonna be just fine, sweetie. And he'll forget about this before you know it. Simon is still the sweet little boy I brought home.
I will give you a word of warning, though, just so you're prepared. There were a few days right after surgery, when he would lash out, hiss, smacked Sophie a few times when she got too close. He was very disoriented, and actually has this reaction anytime he comes home from the vet, and there's another cat involved, so it may not apply to the Smudgelet, but if it does, it's normal and nothing to worry about.
Still happy to come by and help you look after him tonight. But if there's no A/C in the bedroom, I'm sleeping on the couch.
think I'm going out of my head, yes I think I'm going out of my head . . .
(Our choral director who later killed himself used to make sure to have his select group do that and Annie Ross's "Twisted" whenever they sang at the mental hospital.)
