So today while I was waiting for the realtor to arrive, I went to The Bone Room. I'd been there a few times before, but it's always nice to browse the lovely specimens. They also had some old medical equipment, and I almost dropped $20 on an antique syringe - there were several different ones, some with German or Russian text printed on the glass

Albany is very close! If you can scrounge up a bike you can probably just ride to Berkeley if you're on telegraph, since its just like a few blocks east and north? When does your work start btw? a;ljasdf

At 5 miles, it's a little too far to go by bike, at least every day. (I am kinda a big wimp and also it's hard enough just to wake up before 9am, heh.) But public transportation will serve me well!

p.s. I would totally say I'd go and make you a cake on your birthday, except that's when I'm moving in so it might be too crazy. BUT MAYBE SOMETHING.

oh wow, love those stores! And the prices aren't that bad either, I would buy like crazy if I actually had a cool shop like that near. (Tried finding some in the area, but no clue what words to google :/)

Yeah, it's quality stuff and they seem take care to know their sources, which is extra nice. I'd try searching for things like taxidermy, specimens, natural history, etc. Or if you're specifically looking for, say, animal skulls or pelts, try that.
