If nothing else, he's bemusing as hell. But as of that time at Dawn's birthday party, she'd rather not spend more time with him than strictly necessary. Kay reacts very, very poorly to people invading her personal space unexpectedly, and so any goodwill she had for Jack has dried up for the foreseeable future.

And he has a dragon, which makes all other arguments invalid.
