Home-made bread in a rice-cooker.

I've tried out this recipe and it worked pretty well. I've also altered it by adding cinnamon and sugar, or chopped jalapenos and shredded cheese, and it went over pretty well with the roommates. I thought I'd post it here for all of you who live in dorms without ovens, don't have enough counter space to knead dough on, or just don't want to waste ( Read more... )

Oh cool!! I'll have to try this. I've been wondering about crockpot bread, but I also have a rice cooker.

I have a crockpot (or slow-cooker) and I love it. I have to admit that one of the big reasons that I decided to cook bread in my roommate's rice cooker is just that it bugs me that we keep around such a bulky appliance that only has one use! I try to make sure that everything in my kitchen can do a few different jobs, since we don't have much space. This helped justify the rice cooker's presence on the counter.
