Cleaning products?

So my roommate and I share her cookware in the apartment. However, I cook a lot more than she does, and I've been a bit hard on her pots and pans. Does anybody know any good homemade sorts of things to get off burnt bits, etc? That dawn power desolver.
I was able to get baked caked carbonized gunk off some baking dishes and if it's teflon it doesn't screw that up. And all you need to get it off is a soft sponge and water. Just make sure you rinse well.

Also it works great as a microwave cleaner for the baked on cooked icky nastyness

Okay, this probably sounds weird, but it works...fill the pan with water and then soak a dryer sheet for awhile. Somehow it softens up the gunk and you should be able to scrape it right off. This should work with stainless steel or other metal pans, but I be wary if they're cast iron or non-stick.

Making a paste out of baking soda and water and letting it set for awhile works, too. I don't know if it would be worth your time (or stinking up your apartment...) to boil with vinegar. Just soaking and scrubbing with the vinegar and baking soda should do it - you shouldn't need to heat up the pans.
