trading gift cards?

I have a gift card for Pier 1 imports that I am never going to use. I've had the thing for about a year now and only used it once. I was wondering if any of you guys would be willing to trade? There is $51.45 on the gift card (sorry for the weird amount, it was originally $60 and I bought something). I'd be willing to trade for gift cards to Target ( Read more... )

I actually called right before I made this entry, and that's the right amount. Thanks for the suggestion, though, isn't it infuriating when they do that? It's a freaking gift card, why does it matter how long it takes for you to spend it?

I've seen people sell them on craigslist for a bit below the GC value.

be careful with this, tons of scammers who trade cards and one has a $0 balance, so you trade yours for nothing.

If you cant find someone to trade w/ you could always use it to purchase gifts for people, then you dont have to pull money out of your pocket for gifts.

I second this idea! Pier one is a pretty snazzy store and there's gotta be a gift there that would work for someone you know!

That's a great idea, but fortunately all my friends realize how poor I am this semester and have let me off the hook for gifts. The card is enough to get maybe two or three presents, but not nearly enough for me to get something for everyone (even something small) and having the money in my pocket (or a giftcard for a place that would actually be useful to me) would be a lot more helpful.
