Milliways had been fun. A lot of fun, and the phantom has every intention on making good on his promise that he'd be back. Of course, that means getting rid of Kent for good. In order to do that, he needs to get the help he started looking for before he got sidetracked ( Read more... )

By the time Clark gets to the dam, it's too late. At least Lex is still alive, if unconscious, which he confirms himself while the phantom is preoccupied with the meteor rocks.

Which is possibly not the best thing to let him do, but it's not like Clark can get near it.

It's the best feeling in the universe, sapping the energy from those rocks into himself. He's going to have to find a way to keep doing that. Maybe Lex won't be useless after all.

When he starts back out, he discovers that he and Lex aren't alone anymore. Kent. Figures.

"You had the existence I could only dream of. Every pleasure at your disposal and you wasted it." All Milliways did was reinforce that. Anything and anyone he wanted, and he just lets it sit there, untouched.

"You don't deserve this life, Clark. But I do." And the sooner he gets it, the better. "Come on."

Yeah, yeah. Clark's heard this before and he isn't about to let this guy run any more rampant around his life than he already has.

Still, the plan he has is vague, and he can't shake the old habit he has of tapping his fingers against his leg when he's trying to gear himself up for something big.

And then he takes a deep breath, and rushes his lookalike, fist raised.

The kid's not exactly slow, and were he just a human or hadn't just got a fresh energy boost, Kent might just have got one up on him.

But he's not and he did, so as fast as the other man is, he's not fast enough. The phantom lands both fists into Clark's chest, sending him flying across tot he other side of the room, though a pillar and into the wall.

He should be dead with that blow.
