Premier League

Liverpool 3 - 1 Manchester United - Chicharito.Early post this week as during the last ten minutes of the first half I just had to step back. Prompted by me shouting at a player who was genuinely hurt by what was a bad tackle, apparently it's a gash to his leg. He's theatrical and has a low threshold for pain, he's the type of ( Read more... )

Those ten minutes were bad, really really bad - if you just erased them it would have been a heated but fair game, but alas. There was no need for the hair pulling, I'm hoping Kenny or the senior players on the team try to talk to Suarez about decision making on the pitch.

And Carragher's tackle was not pretty. I'm glad he apologised afterwards, at least.

It was just unnecessary, why risk getting sent off when you're 2-0 up, mad. Other than those 10 minutes, well, they were just as horrendous for me ;) but it was a clean match, as you said. Well, it gets the blood pumping if nothing else.

It really was. Unnecessary and stupid - like you say, why risk getting sent off at that point? I don't get why he would do that. I can't imagine he deliberately set out to hurt Nani; Carra is sometimes clumsy when he tackles but he's not malicious. It'd be interesting to hear what went through his head. Have there been any news in Nani's injury?

I'm guessing both managers told their players to calm down during half time! I was sure there was going to be at least one red card, but they all seemed more contained in the second half.

That was the only frustrating thing about them not talking to the press, the lack of news regarding his injury but I think it's just a small but deep gash down his leg, where the studs caught him. Maybe out for a few games.

I was all for Ferguson giving them the hair-dryer treatment at HT but as they all seemed a bit calmer second half, I think it was put on hold.
