My dad is so cool!

Last night he bought me a thumb drive for all my stories! Isn't that awesome? I have named it Bob because the little light turns blue when it's plugged into my computer. That media drives have gotten smaller and larger over the years amuses me. I used to store my stories, 25 per, on 3.5" floppies. Now I can store them all on a tiny flash drive (if I wanted to, but I don't trust them not to break easily, being carried in my pockets lots). I don't have a word count to compare with you, but I think nearly 250 separate files of varying lengths helps.

(Though later we upgraded to 486s and used them for gaming; the list of classic PC games I've played is actually quite long now that I think about it) The strides technology has made in my lifetime are just mind boggling. I can only imagine how dad feels, since in his lifetime computers pretty much went from huge monsters with blinking lights that took up entire rooms to little tiny 20 gig iPods you can stick in your pocket or data devices designed to be worn as earrings. :) I can't wait to see what happens in my lifetime ( ... )
