I kind of get the feeling that Aizen's a Knight Templar who basically decided "okay a five-year-old could rule better than these dumbasses TIME FOR A REGIME CHANGE but I'll abuse their stupidity for now." Granted, he definitely isn't the best man for the job, and he'd probably be ridiculously authoritarian, but I think he ought to at least be a sort of wake-up call for Soul Society to GET A GOVERNING BODY THAT DOESN'T CONSIST OF A BUNCH OF FUCKTARDS.
Agreed re: Tousen. When I don't find him completely boring, I just lineface because he makes no sense. He's pretty much the only character I've never liked even before I started getting annoyed with Bleach. Yeah, I didn't mind Ulquiorra and Hitsugaya that much at one point.
I have to admit, I didn't mind the fact that certain parties just got cameos in Turn Back The Pendulum. It was sort of fun to see what all the characters were like 100 years ago though I have to admit that I wanted to see more Revolver Kuchiki.
That *might* be interesting, but I still feel like we need to see more of that *now* not as a 'surprise twist' (cough vizards cough).

I guess since we were taking our (bi-annual! meaning once every two years instead of twice a year) plot and character dump seeing more of more people would have been better.
