I'll join the chorus: Happy Mother's Day to you too. Being a mother isn't all tea and crumpets or cakes or whatever, is it? And it goes far beyond baby bottles and pacing at night when they're babies -- far more into pacing at night as they grow and become adults. And yet, won't have changed this for anything.

There are many things I would change if I could but I can't so I have to accept all the bitterness the day brings and just the hint of sweet. It's a hard day for me and I so admire all mothers.

Some of us are blessed with easy motherhood and adoring children-- the whole Norman-Rockwell-picture-at-the-Thanksgiving-table thing. Some of us seem like we're in a painting by Hieronymus Bosch or Salvador Dali. Some of us swing between both sides till we're dizzy and can't see straight. Mothers have to be tough, especially when sugar and spice ain't there and there's a whole lot of other stuff instead. That's why we have other mothers to give us hugs. Which I throw over to you.

Your comparison to paintings is right on.
No sugar and spice here, that's for sure.

I am grateful for your understanding, Rebekah.
(((hugs))) back!
