It's looking like a winter wonderland outside my window; it started snowing about two hours ago. They're predicting lovely 60-degree weather for the trick-or-treaters on Monday. Gotta love New England weather. ::snort::

PIMP: Are all of the Sentinel fans on my flist reading lit_gal's fabulous Recovery (her fanfic100 challenge project)? If not, I urge you to check ( Read more... )

Oh... you have proper autumn/winter weather!! It was over 70 degrees here in London last week. At the end of October. It isn't natural. I long for proper weather... *sniff*

This isn't exactly "proper" weather for us in the Boston area, either -- we usually don't get snow until Thanksgiving, but precedents have been broken so often that I just take it as it comes, y'know? At least we don't have (OK, rarely have) devastating hurricanes, earthquakes, or mudslides.

Generally speaking, you in London have more moderate weather than we do; there are times I envy your lack of exgreme temperatures. 70 degrees in late October sounds fabulous! The cold will arrive soon enough...

::nods:: When I was growing up, greater Boston would get much more snow than the Cape; lately, it seems to be the reverse (the effects of global warming, perhaps?). New England weather is nothing if not unpredictable. At least we don't have (OK, rarely have) devastating hurricanes, earthquakes, or mudslides.

And today, it was so nice, we went to Cambridge and walked around Harvard Square in short-sleeved shirts! That's New England for you...

Heh. Would I watch three eps in one night if I wasn't enjoying it? As Sheppard, Joe Finigan is charming, adorable, and dead sexy by turns, and David Hewlett is brilliant as McKay -- perfect comic timing! I'm not getting the "they're so doing it" vibes that I get with Jim/Blair, but I bet it wouldn't be too difficult for a good fanfic writer to convince me.

The hard part is avoiding the SGA fanfic until I catch up with canon (I've seen a bunch of spoiler warnings for the "Siege" arc, so I'm going to hold off on reading fic until I've watched those eps). But it's soooo tempting!

Hee! I was knee deep in fiction before I'd watched more than three eps. I'm too impatient. I actually read (atrocious) transcripts so I'd know canon from fanon. o.O

And as for not seeing the slash - what about Hide and Seek? By the third episode, McKay - very protective of his health and wellbeing McKay, who is obviously not a man who trusts easily - is letting John Sheppard shoot him, push him off a balcony and lord only knows what else, to test the personal shield? They got very close and pally rather quickly, methinks. And the look on John's face when he realised what Rodney was doing, walking into the energy creature? He was the first one down those stairs after it dispersed, very hands on, making sure Rodney was okay.

And in The Storm/The Eye - Kolya told John that Weir was dead, which means John was running all over Atlantis being a hero to save Rodney!

Aaaaaaaaand I'll stop now. But I have more! :D I blame kyrieane entirely. She totally corrupted me. *g*

OMG, I loved that! That's the scene that made me jump on the SGA bandwagon. I nearly fell off my couch LMAO when John looked at Weir with that smug smile and said "I shot 'im." But I saw that as "boys will be boys" buddy behavior, not slash. Honest!

OK, you've got me there (I had somehow forgotten about that scene); that definitely had slash vibes (I'd call it pre-slash, but obviously, your mileage varied). I bet there's more than a few fics that use that scene as the moment John realizes he has feelings for Rodney but doesn't know whether Rodney feels the same way... ;)
