I thought that The September Issue was absolutely fascinating! It gave me a whole newfound respect for American Vouge, which I often criticize for not going out on a limb.
I should say that while I have those criticisms about AV, that particular issue was already one of my favorite magazine issues EVER prior to seeing the film. I was just starting to plan my wedding at the time, and found bigtime inspiration in a few of the stories (especially the long, perfectly executed, 20s spread). It was so awesome to see those stories come to life in the film. And so awesome that that cover of Sienna that I had always hated the hair on was not supposed to look that way...
loved the inside vogue stance :) Wasn't surprising, but I really enjoyed it from their perspective. Made me glad I didnt try that hard to get into the fashion world tho, think you have to be a certain type of person to weather it out! The lady with red hair is awesome and it made me and my sister chuckle that only the interns pretty much LOOK like they're working for Vogue ;) All the senior people look knackered (haggard, tired, fuzzy around the edges!)/ loves it.
