Update:

Buses are still on strike. Nurses are considering going on strike. Local Newspaper wants to go on strike (Local free newspaper is feeling very smug.) Water commission is probably going on strike by the end of the week.

Am currently training an Australian on a work visa who enjoys bus rides and reading newspapers.  I may have cracked up,

The prairies are starting to hit the end of their rope when it comes to winter - you can tell, because the smallest rise in temperature brings out the shorts and knee-length skirts. No longer are we content to wait for the temperature to be in the positive digits! Or for it not to be actively snowing!

lol, that's hardcore. I saw one guy in running shorts the other day, but he had those Lycra-thermal leggings underneath.
And it's not even that cold over here! It's just dark and cloudy. :)
