That's generally how I felt when I first got to college. I was so interested in trying new things, I totally forgot about my major. I was part of a musical theater club/org, and placed my heart into the performances that I forgot to read, sit back, and remember that I was taking Creative Writing.

Out of pressure, I transferred to Literature so that I could get back to the essence and foundation of my art. And I'm still planning to take CW as a master's degree later. Point is, maybe you need to give it a little bit more time. Give yourself time to settle in.

If you're worried that you're only doing this for the sake of your parents, then maybe you have to talk to them about it. Ask them what they want from you, ask them what they think you should do with all these doubts. Because they might be thinking that you're simply succumbing to the stress of a new environment, and all they're trying to do is keep you going - which is what parents tend to do, really.

Good luck with your work, dear. Fight-o!

True. I'm just really stressed right now so I think the stress is getting to me.

It's only been the first semester, there's still time to adjust and get used to college :)

Thank you!!!!

Congratulations on getting your first, really tiny taste of the real world. Piggy is proud of you :'3

Are there any financial consequences for switching majors halfway through the year? If there aren't, you may want to try going Undeclared for a bit... I don't know how American universities work, sorry :/ If Pharmacy isn't for you, are there any related majors you could possibly switch to? In terms of credits, you might be able to cross-apply them if you want out.
But still, I've got faith in you! I know shit's hard right now, but you'll get through it because hey, you're almost halfway done the year!

Ugh, you can never please Asian parents, seriously. Their kids will always disappoint them :'D

Thanks! Just one more week!

A bit, there's a lot of money involved in going to this school and since it's professional school...well my parents think it's a good idea in investing in going to a professional school. It could be that the stress of finals are getting to me and I'm just becoming anxious and just stressed.

YAY!!!! One more week and I'll be done with my first semester!

Lol that is TRUE.

=( Don't do it if you don't love it. Pharm is one of the ones that takes at least a grad degree to do anything with, right? That's a massive commitment for something you'll hate doing.

*hug* It's almost break, so you'll be able to think. Almost there!

It IS a massive commitment and although it's easy to switch out, it's hard to switch back in.

/is hugged, we're almost there! ONE MORE WEEK!

Congrats on nearly finishing first semester of uni. Time does fly, I thought you were still in high school. :D

It's not unusual to dislike your major, may it be a two weeks in the beginning, a semester to a year and that often during that time people switch and at the second year do something totally different. So, just take another semester and see how you go.

Nonetheless, you should talk it over with your parents and ask them, what do they want from you and hopefully they will understand. Pharmacy is a challenging course and I applaud you, as it takes a lot of dedication.

@ I have this gut feeling that I'm living through my parents and I'm always thinking that I'll never be good enough for them.

Urgh. I know this feeling, although for my parents initially it was more of 1) to beat family friends'/family's children as everyone compares each other and 2) as long it's a job that makes a lot of money. - Doctor, Accountant, lawyer or Pharmacist.

Time DOES fly. I can't believe I'm already done!!!

I guess it was the stress of finals getting to me. I'm sure if I did any other major, I would be stressing the same way.

Same with the job thing!!! Although my parents were pushing for Pharmacist since I was like in 10th grade....

Finals time does tend to bring around a bout of insecurities, especially when it's first year and you're kinda paranoid about everything. I'd suggest sticking to it for a whole year before deciding if you really want to switch majors or not.

If you transfer to a state university - what happens? How would that be different from the institution you're attending now?

Good luck with the exams though! Like this winter holiday to sit down and talk things over with your parents again. I hope things work out. <33

True. I managed to talk to my sister and I'm just going to give it another semester before I declare anything.

Not different, it's just that I've had such a good experience here that I don't want to leave some of my friends behind.

Thanks!
