My sleep pattern used to include frequent patches of a few days at a time where I would dream, sharp compelling visions that I would often be driven to record. I think it might be okay to have thinner memories or to have some "light teasers." If your brain had epic, detailed dreams which you remembered in great detail at all times, your neurons may not get the rest or regeneration they need maybe? Just a theory. I am often confidently wrong.
