interesting. how many people do you think will desert the LJ boat?

I hope enough people start using DW that a viable community forms. Because that is what makes LJ better/different from other blog platforms: the community.
If DW does gel into a viable community, I think there will be a gradual shift of focus among the people who use both from here to there. And naturally people would then suggest to non-journal-using friends that they create a DW account rather than an LJ account, etc. I don't think hardly anyone will desert LJ...it'll just start to wither as DW starts to bloom.

I was interested in checking it out. I'm not likely to abandon LJ, but I've been enjoying the development of different cultures on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter and was thinking of trying this one as well.

If you still have an invite free, I'm interested, but if they're in high demand I'll probably talk myself into paying a month instead.

It's just the osrt of thing I would have previously plunked down money without thought, but with me still in school (and not working) and Mike still unemployed, I'm successfully restraining my "just for fun" spending for the moment.
