The evening has settled down snuggly around the local bar (Nola Socks) that is just starting to fill up with World Cup spectators. Your blog just made my anxiety riddled day

(apartment applications, job applications, oh crap! I'm still working here in Albuquerque ... I'll be with you in a minute, sir)

much better.

I'm glad to see a blog that makes your life in Israel sound so cohesive. It makes me feel better about the fact that you're not coming home yet.

That blog was truly a welcome and talented addition to the mountains I've reading I've been doing lately. Tasty. Like a biscuit.

it's been a while since I checked LJ, but I missed this post, Idit!

I was watching soccer with my Brazilian and Canadian friend, and when Donovan scored, everyone jumped and hugged and cheered.

what I gather from my Ecuadorian, Peruvian, Colombian, Venezuelan and Brasilian friends, South American countries have a Rivalry with a capital R with Argentina because they think Argentines think they're better than the other countries on their continent (demographically Argentines are mostly of European descent). Also Brasil has a huge soccer rivalry with Argentina. Also, as you might have learned, Maradona the former soccer star was quite the controversial lad.

*sigh* World cup was a lot of fun this year.
