Sorry kid, your ass is large. It was sort of your destiny, though.

When the kids were around 10 or so months old, we went on a trip to Ikea. We got four of their awesome little potty chairs. Two for upstairs, two for downstairs. We had no illusion that they would soon be diaper free, but we wanted to introduce them to the idea of sitting on a potty, so it was never a weird foreign concept ( Read more... )

Russell mentioned that he especially felt proud of Philip because it's been such a long time since he's had a first before Jilly.

I was going to say the same thing(ish) - Yay Philip for being first! And also, I find it so endearing how fascinated little boys are with their penises.

First, this title = win.

Second, your entry made me LOL. And I also was beaming with pride for Philip from, you know, here in front of my computer. Good for him! (And I also LOL'd at Jilly realizing Philip got a cookie and then laughing about it.)

YAAAAAY Philip for peeing on the potty!!!! That's so exciting!

I mean her realizing he got a cookie and then realizing she should try, too! (Maybe I need to get some sleep!)

I know. She was totally like, "what? I didn't know a cookie hinged on this. Come on pee!"

Unfortunately, she's still a bit confused about the whole pee and poop thing and regularly tells us she has poop when she doesn't even a little bit (we think she might be confusing it with pee). I think the process is still a bit confusing for her, and we're going to just have to catch her in the middle of things.

true dat. Ali does not like being caught in the middle of things and will yell "NOOOOOO!" if you try to catch her while pooping and put her on the potty. She HAS pooped on the potty 2-3 times in her little life, but never close together. The first time she was like 7 months old, lol. (We introduced her to it for the same reason you introduced your kiddos to it.) She also seems to confuse poop and pee, and will tell us she's done one when she's actually done the other... hahaha.
