Now that LJ has stopped having a conniption, and hopefully people are more settled in, I bring you details.
TIMEFRAME |
The dates for the
EXPEDITION PLOT I've given the mods (so as to provide both them and you with enough warning) are September 4th through September 25th. There is a vague, spoiler-free calendar
HERE.
As I have said before, this plot is a commitment. If you think you can't be present OOCly/ICly for whatever reason, you can still opt out, and you have my apologies for taking so long to put this together. This is the first plot I've run by myself so I've been trying to work my head around the details and organization of it all. Also: it's not too late to sign up! We can pretend your character heard about the expedition over the network or by word of mouth.
SEMANTICS |
As you can see from the calendar, logs are spaced every two to three days, with plenty of room for backtagging. You are not required to tag into every plot log-- especially since some of them are in the middle of the week-- but you are encouraged to make your own posts and logs and interact with the other people on the journey. I would prefer to get the fighting logs over with as soon as possible. Plot logs will be organized by section, and posting order will be determined on a first come, first serve basis. I'll be making an AIM chat and an NPC account to help with all of this, as well as occasionally hopping into people's posts or PMing them and giving them more material to work with. I run on Pacific Time, so you can expect these things to go up around 3pm EST/12pm PST.
THE JOURNEY |
This trip will be a sea voyage... for the most part. Luke will be commissioning a boat and small NPC crew to sail them around. There will be danger and excitement and miracles and then a big surprise at the end. There will be no death unless your character does something stupid, in which case I will be in contact with the mods to interrogate them about death and curses outside of the City.
The communicators will work outside of the barrier, but reception will not always be reliable. You are free to have fun with that. There are bound to be shenanigans between people who've never met before, or the fact that the gynophobic dude has to share a small cabin with girls for three weeks.
Food, water, etc. will be taken care of until something unfortunate happens on the last leg of the journey. You're lucky that such amazing chefs a.k.a. everyone not Luke are coming on this journey with you and can make plain bread sandwiches taste delicious. However, stuff like clothes, weapons, reagents, and ammunition are all up to your character to bring aboard.
