This whole thing feels right. Castle reassuring himself that she's there because he still doesn't entirely believe it and Kate just so content and peaceful and there because she's finally where she's meant to be.

I know for pacing purposes, Beckett has to be up and in fighting form by the next morning, but to me it's an interesting reversal of Knockout, where she's mortally wounded and taken from him so that he's left with the image of her dying in front of him; here, we have her coming back to him from the brink, but the farthest thing from unscathed. I wanted to play with that, so glad you thought it was interesting, too!
