I'm terrible about leaving comments, but I wanted you to know I am always excited to see a new Material Witness chapter (or, let's be honest, ANYTHING new by you). The way you pull a touchstone moment from an episode and then work the giving of the item into the current timeline is always spot on with my head!canon.

What I especially loved about this is how sure Castle is that Beckett never had a woobie and how long he held onto it before giving it to her, but it still might be a little too soon. Since we saw so little of their home relationship last season, I always wonder how much Beckett struggled with staying present, whether she was in a much better place from the therapy, or whether it was an effort for a long time to make herself stay, as you present here.

Anyway, great job, once again! Thanks so much for sharing!

Thanks for taking the time! I have really liked writing these chapters, but I admit it feels a lot of the time like I'm the only one who's interested in them. That's fine-I think that's true of the vast majority of my writing anyway, but given the sweep of these from past to present, it's harder to motivate to actually sit down and write them when it feels like writing into a black hole
