This is a bit maudlin, but I was looking back through some LJ entries, and in early 2009 I wrote:

"On to less psychoanalytic subjects, I totally got to hug Joss Whedon on Tuesday. It was beautiful. I think I’ve reached my peak in life, and there’s no way to go from here but down."

Oh! I was feeling down* yesterday and then I stumbled across a paper from a year ago that had "2 really good reasons to smile" on it. And despite the fact that it was just the names of two CD's that I had been waiting for last fall and one of them actually sucked, it still made me smile now. So now I want to hide it so I can discover it again in the future, except I'm afraid it will lose its magic that way.

futureme.org is great for this kind of pick-me-up. Receiving emails from yourself of six months ago is a fantastic pick-up.

Don't you love how I turn "make Damascus feel better" into "let me babble about myself." Um, see subject for that. And really, you're awesome in ways that cannot be quantified in a list. Okay?

*I am sick today and I am going to be sick tomorrow ON MY BIRTHDAY, which should totally be against the rules. I call BS on the universe.
