Dairine has been raiding blankets, so they can have a nice little nest. "Hey, Polly!" she calls cheerfully, her arms laden with them. "Good timing. You want to watch out here or in our room? Nita's out somewhere."

"Well, your call," I said. Then, I thought about how awkward it would be if Nita came home for some reason. "But how about out here? It's pretty quiet, now, and it's closer to the kitchen. In case we need more popcorn?"

Though other people than Nita can walk in if they're out here, but hey, the more the merrier. It just means there will be more converts to the Holy Shrine of Star Wars. "Works for me," Dairine says, flopping down onto the couch and scooting into a corner to make room.

I sat down beside her and placed the popcorn between us. "Thanks," I said.

Dairine was a good friend. She made me comfortable being me, and it felt good relaxing beside her. I almost stopped worrying about the things I wanted to talk about. Almost.

When the movie credits started up, I saw that it was, indeed, the same movie that Bridge had started to show me on our date.

"It'll be good to see this movie all the way through," I said. I took a deep breath. "Bridge started to show it to be. It was good. But then Han Solo showed up. Which was... weird."
