'The Sequel of Obligation' and sequels - Master list

Feb 22, 2007 11:44

This is a 'housekeeping' post, so there will be links to all the 'Obligation' stories in one convenient (lol) location ... y'all feel free to ignore.

The Sequel of Obligation was recc'ed on Crack Van here to my very great pleasure. The rec serves as a pretty good overview of what the story is all about, for those unfamiliar with the series.

I'd also like to point out that this series wasn't written in a linear fashion, so if you're reading it that way, you may come across the occasional inconsistencies and contradictions. I'd appreciate you letting me know so I can fix it (at some later date, lol). I'd ALSO like to note that, to date, I have over 219,000 words invested in this series. Which, when you add it all up, it kind of boggles the mind (boggles mine, anyway).

1. The Sequel of Obligation First in the series, X-over The Sentinel/The X-Files, BS/AK Summary: A brand new Sentinel is dropped into Blair's lap, just when he's become resigned to the fact that Jim can't give him what he needs. Word count: 32,000
2003 Spooky Awards Winner - Honorable Mention for Outstanding Crossover
2004 Light My Fire Awards Winner for Outstanding non-J/B Pairing

2. Serving Notice Second in the series. Summary: Situations change and people have to change with them, as events unfold during Blair's last week in Cascade. Word count: 17,000-ish

3. As Much As Needed Third in the series. Summary: Blair and Sasha go to Sierra Verde to the temple of the sentinels. Word count: 13,000-ish

4. Keeping in Touch Fourth in the series timeline-wise but posted July 08, it's mostly just a snippet - missing scenes and exposition kind of stuff. Summary: Blair and Sasha adjust to their new lives together, and Blair has promises to keep to the people in his old life. This story may be added to in the future Word count: 3,700

5. War Years Fifth in the series timeline-wise, most recently posted (Aug 08), it's very Methos-centric in all the best ways. *winks* Didn't you wonder when you read 'Should Auld Acquaintance' why Blair and Methos called each other 'Brother'? Pairings include BS/AK, BS/AK/M, M/K (that's Methos and Kronos, btw) and unrequited D/M. AU after 'Highlander Endgame' and ignores 'Highlander The Source' (who wouldn't ignore that mess? Joe die? Methos ride off into the night? Duncan lose his immortality to father a baby? Not in this universe, no). This story is a WIP. I am adding to it periodically and updating it when I get around to it. I might also warn that this is unbetaed fic and subject to editing Word count: 38,000-ish

6. Should Auld Acquaintance Sixth in the series (and the fourth written in case you wondered). Summary: Sasha and Blair must deal with people from their pasts when both Walter Skinner's and Jim Ellison's lives are endangered. Methos and Duncan MacLeod from Highlander also feature heavily in this story. Jim owies! Walter owies! Pairings include BS/AK, D/M, and mention of past WS/AK. Word count: 28,000

7. The Fundamental Feature Seventh in the series timeline, sixth story written). Summary: Set near the end of the war (but before 'Having All Its Parts'), Blair and Sasha learn who Blair's father is. They set out to save Blair's brother and save the world. *g* This is a Smallville Lexmas fix and includes some very mild Luthorcesty-brotherly love. It also touches on past child abuse/molestation. Pairings include BS/AK, past AK/LL, BS/AK/LL, and LL/CK. Word count: 32,000-ish

8. Having All Its Parts Eighth in the series timeline (and, I believe, fifth story written). Summary: Jim takes Blair and Sasha to stay with the Chopec after the invasion is foiled and makes a few discoveries about himself. Blair/Sasha/Jim. Word count: 19,000

9. Taktike Techne Ninth in the series timeline. Summary: Sasha has plans. Mulder has dreams. Jim gets ideas. Blair gets surprised. Word count: around 38,000

10. Taktike Techne, continued. WIP Last story in the series timeline-wise. Summary: The mother-in-law story. *g* Warning: Due to personal reasons, Tactike Techne (or Obligations 10), while relatively complete, is not a 'finished' story and may possibly never be, although I am still picking around on it periodically. Word count: 8,000-ish

Additionally, my friend Maxine wrote a little Skinner/Doggett snippet based on this universe which can be found here. Fanfic of fanfic, how cool is that? *BG*
