You can't take it out once it's in!

This poll relates to a situation which has arisen at my work on two recent occasions. I know what the correct response should be, but I can't work out how to deal with it appropriately without an awkward situation resulting.

i get grossed out by foods pretty easily, so i wouldn't drink it. but, i would probably soften it by saying something like, "thank you so much for thinking about me and grabbing a coffee for me, but i just can't handle milk (or whatever else makes the food inedible for me). i really appreciate the thought, though". if you just take it, it will happen again and again, getting more awkward to stop each time. he or she may have just forgotten or misremembered how you like it, especially if this isn't an everyday occurance. honesty is usually the best way to go.

I know that this is the correct way to deal with the situation and that if I don't take action, I will be pouring milky coffee down the lavy pan from here until kingdom come! But, now that the boss has put milk in my coffee twice, it seems so difficult to tell him I can't drink coffee with milk in it. Awkwardness and embarrassment are inevitable!

I'll say "Thank you for offering but I take my coffee black".

I do know what the right thing is to do in this situation, but it feels so awkward that I can't bring myself to do it. Or haven't been able to so far, at least.

Also wouldn't say anything about the other times the boss did give you coffee with the milk in it.
