Hee! I started it a month ago or so when I was helping my mom move into her new place--about 8 hours sitting in the passenger seat of a U-Haul gives you LOTS of time to write. ;)

I really fought with the end and I'm still not quite happy with it--Tsuna's just met with the Ninth and he (Tsuna) has decided that, despite his earlier wishes, the Vongola will have to resort to using the box weapons. And Gokudera's not happy with this (one, because it goes against what Tsuan really wants, and two, because it means the world has just become a much more dangerous place). I'll poke the ending with a stick some and see if I can't get it to be a little more clear.

I'm so glad you liked Sophia! I've never tried an OC before (in fanfic, anyway), so I was really nervous about how she would turn out and how people would respond to her.

Go write! Go write, NAO! I'm always dying to read good writing. ♥

This fic reminded me of the kind-of-a-dumbass part of Yamamoto's personality, and I love it. I forget about that part of him because he's often being so much more people-smart than most of the people around him.

Then he sighed, this breathy, hopeless thing like Gokudera had often heard him make in the throes of algebra exams and literature lectures. It was pathetic.
I can just picture it. SO ADORABLE.

"I thought we could bond."
That's asking for a beating, Yamamoto. XD

I've never been to Italy!
He did go, though, with Dino in Gokudera's promotion chapter.

Mentally, he reeled through the catalog of stories he'd heard--wasn't there a man in the Family who'd lived out his life filled with bullets that had failed in their mission to kill him?
You've got a great grip on Gokudera's .... specialness too.

I love the detail and the life in this. Gokudera's pride in his homeland is endearing, especially since it comes through strongly in spite of his determined dedication to the Vongola.

Aww, thank you~! I think Yamamoto would totally plan outings with Gokudera just to bond with him, don't you? ;)

Also, WHAT?! A Gokudera promotion chapter wherein he goes to Italy with Dino and Yamamoto? How have I not read this yet? *plots to obtain it*

I'm so happy you liked this! I spent about a month tweaking it and adding to it and fretting over it, so it's great to see people enjoy it. I love Gokudera most in the context of his Italian history, so it was fun to play with here. *big squishy hugs*

I really love your writing, smut fics or not...though I haven't left many reviews mostly because a lot of the stuff you've written isn't what I ship, but I can assure you I've read most of your KHR fics and you've had me believing in pairings that I usually have no care for. You're a really fine writer ;____; and that's still quite an understatement.

I like this one so much because it feels very real. Not the canon-kind of real, but more of the mafia-kind of real...and we've been given too little of that with recent canon developments. I can almost imagine Sicily (although just little bits and pieces of what I saw in The Godfather trilogy to sustain my imagination), and the way their stroll through the streets turned into disaster had me going from all smiles to squirming in my seat a little anxiously.

"Got it!" Yamamoto held the bloody thing up like a prize. "Wow," he said, "it's so small!"

Gokudera dragged in a few rough breaths. "Let's shove it in your leg and see how small you think it is." --->my favourite part! So canon XD ( ... )

Wow, thank you. You flatter. *_* (Can I ask who you ship, just out of curiosity? I don't really ship, myself, and I'm a bit of a pairing whore as far as writing goes, so it's good to know what people actually like to read.)

I'm so glad this rang true for you. I loved the mafia theme early on, but lately it's become very Shounen Hero and His Supernatural Powers (which I still adore, but I miss the old stuff, too). So I wanted to play with that. I'd really hoped the transition wouldn't be too jarring, so I'm glad it worked!

Ahh, your comment makes me really happy--definitely perked up a Bad Writing day! Thank you. <3

I go for het pairings...27K and LamPin. If I see a gen fic it makes me sit up too, especially if it involves any of the boys, because it's always nice to read stuff where they aren't getting into each others' pants or attempting to do so LOL XD But I read just about anything since I'm generally not fanatical in the OTP/OT3 department.

That's why! I'm already beginning to forget that KHR is a mafia-centric series, which is a sad thing. And nope it wasn't the least bit jarring...it worked really well:D You put the magic into the sights and sounds of Sicily and then took it right out with the attack and put the mafia back in where it belonged. I was going "Uh oh...ohshitohshitohshit" at the part where Gokudera heard the click.

You're welcomed:D I hope it only lasts for a day and then you'll get back on form again. Ganbatte!<3

Lambo/I-pin is the pinnacle of adorableness, for serious. More people need to write this pairing! I like slash/het fic as much as the next person, but it's so refreshing to read something that's not that from time to time.

The anti-writing bug has been lingering for a couple of months, but I think a new job and some lovely summer weather is helping to kick it. :)

Aw, I'm so glad you liked this! Thank you~!

Sophia was a lot of fun to write. I like to imagine Gokudera having someone like her in his life. :)

And I'm so jealous of your trip to Florence! Was it as beautiful as the pictures I've seen?

Aw, thank you so much! I haven't done much gen at all, but I adore Gokudera and there are so many facets to his character that pairing fics often neglect. This had started out as a pairing fic, but then it seemed like it would be too much, so I never wrote that part. I'm so glad it worked for you as gen. Makes me a littl braver to try it again some time. :)

Ahh, Sophia. I'm so happy you liked the character! She was only supposed to be around for a line or two, originally, but then she really blossomed and I just went with it. I hate writing OCs for fic, but I play with original fiction, too, and I figured this would be good practice. ;)

Gah, I'm so happy you liked this! Your comment made me grin!
