Sadly, we haven't been able to plant anything these past two years. I'd tried to grow tomatoes a few years ago, but that was a flop, and this year, by the time we actually had time to start considering what to plant, it was too late to start. Starting from seed isn't hard once you get the hang of it. I have organic black plum tomatoes, red striped romans, cucumber and "cinderella" pumpkin (the sweet dark red/orange kind for pies) all thriving in my indoor "greenhouse" just waiting to plant on the May long weekenk.

Being only the second summer at this property, this year I'd like to add a rain barrel and another compost bin. Still working on my better half to investigate getting some chickens.

I wish I were you! We live in a third-story apartment, so large plants and chickens are out of the question--I tried growing tomatoes, zucchinis, and pumpkins last year, the sizes of these monsters completely exceeded my expectations.

I've started plants from seeds before, which is why I think they're a bit too fiddly. I suspect I'll change my mind as soon as we get some decent space and bigger pots.
