I've got news for you, the parents in this cartoon are smokers, they would be paying for that kid's doctor's appointments, whether directly or indirectly. Or hey, maybe they're tobacco farmers, and by vetoing that bill Bush saved their jobs.

No, no, I'm wrong about everything. There are NEVER two sides to every issue. Bush totally only vetoed the bill because he thinks socialism is evil. How could I be so dumb.

Bush vetoes a children's health bill to save the cancer industry?

I beg you to keep running with that talking point outside of your echo chamber.

there are two sides (at least) to most issues, but that doesn't mean that Bush is right is in this instance. He is utterly wrong morally, and pretty darn wrong in most other senses. Denying health care to children (and I could give two craps about their parents' income)for shaky financial reasons while funding massive carnage is plain stupid.

TELL THAT MOTHER FUCKER TO GET TO WAL MART AND GET THE FOUR FUCKING DOLLAR PILLS! Fucking crap, John Stossel did a 20/20 not to long ago that could easily solve these kinds of problems WITHOUT GOVERNMENT if people weren't fucking lazy and dependant on someone else to take care of them.

That beind said I can't say much because I have a government health care policy being in the military. But it ain't THAT great, and sometimes you gotta jump through hoops to get something done.

But any healthcare is better than no healthcare right? Screw that, I'm tired of paying for your lazy ass, go out and get a job and pay for your own damn problems.

I'm not compassionate about other people, sorry.

I was in the military and I'm compassionate about other people. My experience was that it would've been a much better place if there were more people like me and less like you.

Yeah, compassion is good. I much prefer compassion to. . . not-compassion.

I understand that according to the bill in some sattes the family could makse as much as $82k and get assistance. Also, the age limit would be anyone under 25. I'm not sure if that is correct but if it is I'm glad he vetoed the bill.

The last thing we need in this country is a single payer system or government run healthcare. Don't believe me? Just see how effective and efficient other government programs are. Remember all those horror stories about VA hospitlas a few months back? And that was for a few thousand. Do you really think the government could take care 300 million? And ask doctoers from those civilized socialist healthcare states how wonderful it is. They will laugh at you.

How many of these doctors have you talked to or are you just repeating talking points you read on a website somewhere?

I have a couple of friends of mine who live in Canada and they advocate their healthcare system.

Also, the company I work for has a call center in Halifax. Did you know that it's cheaper for us to hire Canadians than it is Americans because the healthcare benefit costs are less than they are here? I know, go fig right?

Well, if you would like some facts instead of Administration propaganda, take a look here.

Mmm. . . facts are tasty. . . and good for you!

There are far more than a few thousand veterans. A few thousand at the smaller of two Chicago hospitals I go to, sure, but nowhere near that nationwide.
