And getting the government to fund their profit margins while doing it!! And I think that will be the fundamental argument that will successfully push the issue of paying living wages.
Wal-Mart (and other big box grocery stores too, I'm sure) don't pay their employees a living wage. Employees get SNAP benefits from the government to help make ends meet. Some of said SNAP benefits doubtlessly gets spent at Wal-Marts.
Isn't that a business subsidy? Corporate welfare, if you will?
